Sex Therapy

The good news about sex therapy is that most sexual problems can be completely or partially solved with the help of a Certified Sex Therapist.  Too many people suffer for years in silence when relatively short-term treatment can restore them to sexual satisfaction as individuals and with their partners.

It has finally become more acceptable to acknowledge sexual dysfunction, and the specialized sex therapy needed to treat them, ever since the wide publicity given to erectile dysfunction medication appeared in the media.  This is good – and important – because more than half of all adults, including women, experience sexual dysfunction or difficulty at some point in their lives.  Some of this dysfunction is very temporary, but an AASECT-certified Sex Therapist with specialized training and expertise is required in most other cases.

AASECT-certified Sex Therapists are experienced licensed psychotherapists who go on to obtain rigorous multi-year post-graduate training in the handling of sexual problems, leading to professional certification from the prestigious American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT).  AASECT-certified sex therapists are the only licensed psychotherapists with the advanced training to properly help you on your way to sexual health. IPG has several AASECT-certified Sex Therapists on staff, and is further certified by AASECT as an AASECT Training Institute.

IPG’s Certified Sex Therapists approach sexual dysfunction directly, using an approach that includes behavior-based solutions and cross-referring, when indicated, with physicians who are specially trained in sexual medicine, specifically urologists and gynecologists.
